A team visited the scene and confirmed unknown assailant had killed the man and his head was missing after the Sunday dawn incident.

The lifeless body was found in the middle of a feeder road and two mobile phones believed to belong to the deceased and slippers were found at the scene.

The body was removed to Malindi General Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
