Comedian Eric Omondi has been charged with an offence of blocking vehicles by pouring kale (Sukuma wiki) on Parliament Road.
Omondi appeared before Milimani Principal Magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi and denied charges of creating disturbance.
According to the charge sheet, Omondi on June 4 this year along Parliament Road in Starehe Sub-county within Nairobi, jointly with others, not before the Court created disturbance in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.
The charge sheet indicates he did this by pouring the Sukuma wiki on the road 'in a manner likely to cause breach of peace to other road users.'
The court heard that Omondi was arrested on Friday when the charge decision was made.
Magistrate Ehkubi, in granting him bail, said, "You don't need to keep somebody in custody for the whole weekend for a misdemeanour."
He released him on a cash bail of Sh5000.
The matter will be mentioned on December 4.
