Kenya's Embassy in Australia has announced scholarship opportunities for Kenyans.

In a notice released on Monday,  the Kenyan Embassy in Australia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Stanley International University College in Perth, Australia to offer opportunities to Kenyan students.

The partnership will provide funded scholarships for eligible students to pursue two courses, a Bachelor of Community Service and a Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology.

As detailed in the notice, the scholarships will be offered for two courses. They include a Bachelor of Community Service and a Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology.

The scholarships which cover 100% of tuition fees and waive the enrollment fee of AUD 230(Sh19,290) are now open for applications.

"The scholarship awarded will be 100% of the course tuition fee and the Enrolment fee of AU 230(Sh19,290) will be waived,” read the notice.

To qualify, applicants must hold a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with an average grade of B or its equivalent.

Proficiency in English is mandatory, with candidates required to achieve an IELTS score of at least 6.5 overall.

"Achieve English Proficiency test results with a satisfactory score of IELTS 6.5 with no band lower than 6.0, or equivalent,” read the notice.

Applicants should ideally reside in Kenya at the time of application.

Scholarship application forms can be downloaded from the Ministry of Education’s website at education.go.ke which will be submitted electronically to the High Commission.

“Interested and qualified candidates are required to submit their applications via email to [email protected],” read part of the statement.

The application deadline is set for December 6, 2024.

The State agency also noted that no money will be paid to the High Commission for the scholarship awards.

In a bid to ensure a fair selection process, the notice indicated that the scholarships are not open to relatives of High Commission staff.

Selected recipients will be required to study continuously without taking any breaks during their academic programs.
