A total of 142 applications were made for the position of vice-chairperson of the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The selection panel for the recruitment of nominees for appointment further noted that it received 848 applications for the seven member positions of the PSC at the close of the advertisement period on November 4, 2024.
The panel has shortlisted nine people for the vice chair position and 57 applicants for PSC member positions.
Candidates shortlisted for vice chair position were interviewed on November 18-19, 2024.
Interviews for shortlisted candidates for PSC member positions started on November 19, 2024 and will go on till November 27, 2024.
“The shortlisted candidates will be interviewed at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Fourth (4th) Floor, Boardroom, Nairobi on the dates and times indicated in the schedule,” the chair of the selection panel Arthur Osiya said in an advert.
Candidates are required to bring originals of the National Identity Card; academic and professional certificates and transcripts; valid clearances from the following Kenya Revenue Authority, Directorate of Criminal Investigation, a registered Credit Reference Bureau and Higher Education Loans Board (HELB); Self-Declaration Form duly stamped by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and letter of recognition of qualifications from the Commission for University Education (CUE) for candidates who possess degrees from foreign universities.
Members of the public were invited to avail any information relating to any of the shortlisted candidates (through sworn A‑ davits) to the Chairperson, Selection Panel, Harambee House, 3rd Floor, Room 306/309, Harambee Avenue, Nairobi or through email to psc.2024applications@ headofpublicservice.go.ke.
PSC is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 233(1) of the Constitution. It consists of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and seven Commissioners appointed by the President with the approval of the National Assembly.
Mandate of the commission includes establishment and abolition of offices, provision of competent human resource, promotion of good governance and ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in the provision of quality services in the public service.
