A man identified as Josephat Kathurima, was discovered dead with a gunshot wound on his leg in Buuri, Meru County. The tragic incident was uncovered on Saturday, November 23, outside his home. He lived alone.
Authorities revealed that Kathurima’s lifeless body was found by a young child who had entered the compound to fetch water.
Police handling the murder said they are yet
to establish the motive as nothing was stolen from the home.
The deceased had one gunshot wound to his left leg and may have succumbed due to excessive bleeding.
Police said although the area has been experiencing cases of cattle rustling, his livestock were found at the compound.
The body was moved to the Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy even as investigations go on.
Elsewhere in Kibera slums, Nairobi, a man aged 40 was found murdered and his body dumped near a railway line.
The deceased was identified as Fredrick Oloo
aka Jakababa, 40, police said.
The body was found lying along the railway line with a missing right hand that had been chopped off at the elbow.
He also had a broken right leg at the ankle, four deep cuts in the head and another cut in the chin. The body had bruises on the back, police said.
The motive of the murder is yet to be known. A team handling the matter said the killers have also not been found.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending
autopsy and investigations.
Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they
are investigating murder in the matter.
Elsewhere in Narok, the body of a woman was
found in a stream after a suspected murder.
A suspected assailant is missing after the
incident, police said. Witnesses told police the deceased and suspected
assailant had earlier on been seen at a local bar. The motive of the murder is
yet to be established, police said.
The body was moved to Egerton University
mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
