The 2024 Adventist Music Annual Awards Gala lit up the Kenyatta International Convention Centre on Monday, celebrating the vibrancy and impact of faith-based music.
The prestigious event showcased the talents of choirs and individual performers while emphasising the importance of decency and family-oriented values in music.
The gala attracted notable dignitaries, including Interior PS Dr. Raymond Omollo, and CEO of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya Dr. Ezekiel Mutua.
Omollo underscored the government's commitment to supporting choirs and nurturing talent.
“Music is a powerful tool for national unity and social cohesion,” he remarked. “Events like these demonstrate the transformative potential of faith and art when combined.”
Mutua praised the awards for promoting music that uplifts families and communities.
“This platform is a shining example of how music can be both creative and morally enriching,” he said.
He also encouraged other faith-based organisations to emulate the Adventist community in fostering music that unites and inspires.
Among those honoured was June Ogolla, the State House Choir’s music director, recognised for pioneering contributions to Adventist music.
Ogolla’s dedication to mentoring choirs and raising the bar for faith-inspired performances was celebrated as a model for aspiring musicians.
Meshack Odede, National Chairperson of the Volunteer Involving Organisations Society, highlighted the festival's role in providing a platform for grassroots talent.
“This event is more than a celebration; it’s an investment in young people and their futures,” he stated.
Entrepreneur Browiz Technologies emphasised the festival’s focus on mentorship, equipping the youth with tools for personal and professional growth through music.
The Adventist Music Annual Awards Gala affirmed its role as a platform for fostering creativity, community, and values.
With its commitment to uplifting music, the event has become a cornerstone for both artistic excellence and spiritual enrichment in Kenya.
This year’s gala not only celebrated the achievements of today but also laid a foundation for future generations to continue the legacy of faith-based artistry.
