PSC announces seven vacancies in four public varsities /FILE
The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced seven job openings in four Kenyan public universities.
In a notice dated November 26, 2024, the PSC stated that the
Open Kenya University, Multimedia University of Kenya, Kenyatta University and
Meru University of Science and Technology had job openings.
“Pursuant to the provisions of section 35(1)(a) (v) of the Universities Act 2012
amended through Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act no.18 of 2018, the
Public Service Commission invites applications from suitably qualified persons
for the following vacant positions in public universities,” read the statement.
Three vacancies from the Open University of Kenya include a
re-advertisement for the position of Vice Chancellor and positions for
Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Planning and
Infrastructure.
The Multimedia University of Kenya (MMU) re-advertised for two
positions Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Research and Innovation
and Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration, Finance and Planning.
Kenyatta University and Meru University of Science and Technology
had one opening for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration and Finance and
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Finance and Planning respectively.
The commission further stated that interested applicants can
access the details of the posts and mode of application through the commission’s
website at www.public-service.go.ke
PSC stated that candidates should send their applications to
the commission on or before December 17, 2024, latest at 5:00 pm East African
Time (EAT).
The commission also cancelled two positions advertised on November 16, 2023, for the Multimedia University of Kenya the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs, Research and Innovation and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Finance and Planning positions.
The Public Service Commission urged those who had applied to reapply.
The Public Service Commission is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 233(1) of the Constitution.
It consists of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and seven Commissioners appointed by the President with the approval of the National Assembly.
