A man who had been reported missing in Kiminini, Bungoma was found dead and his body dumped in a maize plantation in Kiminini.
Calistus Pamba, who had been reported missing, was found wrapped in a blanket secured by barbed wire and covered with maize stalks.
According to the police report the body had visible injuries.
The body was moved to Kitale Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
A similar incident was also witnessed in Khwisero, Kakamega
county on November 27, 2024, where the body of a middle-aged woman
lying along Khwisero Emahene Road.
Joyce Amutala aged 23 years old from Sawa location was found lying in a shallow ditch beside the road.
According to the police report, the body had an open fresh wound on the face, and bruises on the neck and the police said there were no struggle marks at the scene which showed that the victim might have been killed elsewhere and dumped at the scene.
The body of the deceased was moved to Sonak Community hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
In another incident in Makueni County, a man died by suicide on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
Mathew Mutinda aged 35 years old had hanged himself with a sisal rope on a mango tree on his father’s farm.
According to the police report, there was no suicide note left behind, the scene was processed and the body was moved to Makueni County Referral Hospital for postmortem.
In a similar incident in Matiliku Sub-Location, a woman was arrested for infanticide on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
Infanticide is the crime of killing a child within a year of its birth.
The woman was arrested by members of the public on allegations that she had killed her four-month-old baby.
According to police interrogation, she admitted to killing the baby and dumped the body in a pit latrine.
With the help of the residents, the baby’s body was retrieved and taken to the Kilome Maternity and Nursing hospital morgue for postmortem.
The suspect is yet to be arraigned in court.
