Hussein Mohammed, the newly elected president of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), is a seasoned entrepreneur and sports administrator with a passion for grassroots football development in Kenya.
He is the current CEO of Extreme Sports Limited, a company renowned for organizing the Super 8 football tournament.

Nairobi.
Hussein Mohammed has previously served as the Vice Chairman of Murang'a Seal Football Club, a Kenya Premier League side.
He also worked as the head of Sales at
Safaricom, Director of Operations
during the Kenya @50 celebrations, Chairman of Youth Agenda, an NGO which aims
to empower and nurture youngsters and also the Chairman of the Harambee Stars
Management Fund back in 2010.
His work in sports has over the years focused on infrastructure development,
youth empowerment, and the commercial growth of Kenyan football.
Mohammed contested for the FKF presidency in 2011 but was
unsuccessful referring his defeat to his inability to fully comprehend the
tricks of winning an election.
Hussein Mohammed was elected the new FKF president on December 7 in a closely contested poll held at Moi Stadium, Kasarani.
Mohammed who was elected alongside former Kenya
international McDonald Mariga, his vice president, after garnering 42 votes of
the total 90 votes.
Dorris Petra and Nick Mwendwa, her running mate, received 31
votes to finish in second place.
Former FKF CEO Barry Otieno received 10 votes, placing him
in third place.
Cleophas Shimanyula came in fourth with 4 votes.
His recent victory in the FKF elections is seen as a fresh
start for Kenyan football, which has faced numerous challenges, including
governance issues and international sanctions just to name but a few.
Speaking after his win on December 7, Mohammed thanked the
delegates for trusting the fresh start team and emphasized that the triumph
belongs to players, fans, clubs, and supporters.
He further pledged to rebuild Kenyan football by restoring
pride, nurturing talent, and reigniting passion across the nation.
"Thank you to all the delegates who believed in the
fresh start team and voted for change. This is not just our win - it’s a win
for every player, fan, club, and supporter, who dreams of a better future for
our game," said Mohammed.
"The work to rebuild Kenyan football begins now.
Together, we will restore pride, nurture talent, and bring back the passion
that unites us all. Thank you all for making this possible," he stated.
Throughout his campaign period, the now-elected FKF president, Hussein Mohammed vowed to reform Kenyan football by improving infrastructure, combating hooliganism, supporting academies, addressing match-fixing, and enhancing the branding and marketing of local clubs.
