Man stabbed to death in fight over women in Keringet

Crime scene

A 24-year-old man was stabbed and killed in a fight with another man after an altercation over a group of women in Keringet area, Nakuru County.

Police said the incident happened on Monday in Kapkembo Location and involved one Aron Kipsang.

He was among a group of men who had attended an event to celebrate the graduation of circumcised men in the village.

According to police, the deceased and an assailant had escorted three girls from the event to a nearby homestead where a disagreement arose.

The deceased is said to have first attacked his assailant prompting a retaliation using a kitchen knife.

Kipsang was stabbed in the neck and staggered out of the compound for about 300 metres and fell on the roadside.

Police said the body was found in a pool of blood minutes later.

The assailant was later arrested and detained at the local station pending investigations and other procedures.

The body was moved to Olenguruone Subcounty hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy.

Elsewhere in Tot, Elgeyo Marakwet County, a fight between two brothers turned tragic when one of them was fatally stabbed.

Police said the incident happened in Kaben location and left one Edward Kiptarus Kisang, 35, dead.

Kisang and his younger brother who is at large are said to have first quarreled before they ended up before their mothers for reconciliation.

They then agreed to go to a nearby shopping centre for a cup of tea.

According to police, while on the way, the younger brother attacked his elder one using a panga and arrow in the neck and chest killing him on the spot.

He then fled the scene. Police arrived at the scene and moved the body to Tot Subcounty Mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations into the December 16 tragedy that left the village shocked.

Police said they suspect land to be the cause of the fight.
