Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka now wants Former Nairobi Town Clerk Philip Kisia to be the Executive Director of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party.
In a press conference on Monday, Kalonzo heaped praise on Kisia saying his experience will be crucial in steering the coalition party ahead of the 2027 elections.
He listed his experience in public service, private sector leadership, and community engagement as key qualifications that could help the party navigate the dynamic landscape of Kenyan politics.
"I propose that Mr Philip Kisia be appointed as the new Executive Director of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party to take over from Hon. Raphael Tuju,” Kalonzo noted.
“Mr Kisia's extensive experience in public service, private sector leadership, and community engagement, makes him uniquely qualified to lead Azimio’s Secretariat as it transitions to an all-inclusive and progressive Coalition.”
Kisia is a household name in Kenya’s governance and business circles having served as Nairobi City Council Town Clerk where he implemented various reforms.
Kalonzo who has expressed interest in vying for the presidency in 2027 is seemingly assembling a team of professionals he deems crucial in clinching the country’s top seat.
Six months ago, he named Zein Abubakar the head of his Presidential Secretariat.
“I wish to thank Hon. Zein Abubakar for accepting to lead my Presidential Secretariat for the last six months. His rich and prolific academic background combined with years of activism has already enriched our growing People’s Team,” Kalonzo said.
In the Monday presser, the wiper leader revealed plans to unveil additional members of his team as part of his preparations for the 2027 contest.
