President William Ruto is scheduled to make a three-day extensive tour of the North Rift region from Thursday.
Ruto will for two days focus on projects within his home county of Uasin Gishu where Governor Jonathan Bii says they are excited about the President’s visit to the region.
“We are ready to welcome the President to this royal county so that together with the people of Uasin Gishu we have a chance to discuss development issues,” Bii said.
CS for water Erick Muriithi who is visiting the region ahead of Ruto’s tour has also urged residents to turn up and welcome the President for the development tour.
“We will have extensive discussions on development matters and we welcome all residents to participate,” Muriithi said.
According to a programme released, the tour will cover Elgeyo Marakwet, Trans Nzoia and Uasin Gishu Counties.
Ruto will arrive in Elgeyo Marakwet on Thursday for a tour of projects including Kerio Valley Technical Training Institute, Kerio Valley KMTC, Kapcherop TTI and also the launch of Kapkundul-Kapyego-Kamelei Road.
He will also issue title deeds in the region.
On the same day, he will be in Cheranganyi area in Trans Nzoia for the launch of the Kitale-Kapenguria-Morpus Road.
On Friday Ruto will start the extensive tour of Uasin Gishu County by first visiting Kapseret Constituency where he will commission Kimuri Dam and Ngeria TTI.
He will then on the same day head to Kesses constituency where he will visit Kimuri Dam, Ngeria TT1, Karita Dam and then Chebor last mile electricity connectivity project.
On Saturday the President will still spend the day in Uasin Gishu, especially in his home constituency of Turbo where he will tour Turbo Subcounty Hospital and then Turbo TTI.
The tour will end in Soy Constituency where Ruto is expected to visit several projects.
He is also expected to address several roadside meetings.
Governor Bii and MPs in the region along with other leaders are already on the ground preparing for the tour.
