President William Ruto is set to preside over the official opening of newly completed classrooms at Lenana primary in Ngando ward, Dagoreti South, Nairobi.

The project was funded through his contribution.

Ruto is funding the construction of other classrooms totaling 100 in Nairobi city county, with Nairobi school and State House Girls being among the beneficiaries.

Some 20 classrooms are being constructed in each of the schools.

It is part of a wider plan to increase enrollment in the city schools.

Swearing-in of new EACC CEO

The newly appointed EACC CEO Abdi Mohamud will today be sworn into office.

Chief Justice Martha Koome will preside over the event to be held at the Supreme Court at 10 am.

Mohamud replaces Twalib Mbarak who has completed his tenure.

NACOA-K press briefing

The National Association of Clinical Officer Anaesthetists Kenya (NACOA-K) will today address the press.

The press is set for 11:30 am at Upper Hill Garden, at the KUCO offices.

They are set to address several issues regarding the strike issues including the refusal to empanel facilities owned by clinical officers registered under the Clinical Officers Act and the withdrawal of pre-authorization rights from clinical officers.

Rotary International President visit

The visiting Rotary International president Stephanie Urchick will today be at Pumwani Hospital for a medical camp.

The medical camp is the outcome of a 24-month partnership between Rotary District 9212 and Rotary Action Group for Family Health & AIDS Prevention Inc (RFHA).

Her visit is part of an extensive tour that will take her across five African countries including Senegal, Tunisia, and Egypt. Before arriving in Kenya, Stephanie visited Uganda.

Echesa case

A magistrate’s court in Nairobi will today issue directions in ex-CS Rashid Echesa's Sh39bn fake arms case.

The case has been listed before Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina.

Echesa was acquitted in December 2021 by then-senior principal magistrate Kenneth Cheruiyot who said the prosecution had failed to prove its case against him.

The prosecution failed to call key witnesses who would have shed light on how the arms deal was clinched.
