President William Ruto said on Friday that the three new Cabinet Secretaries sworn in at State House bring into government important skills and experience.

Speaking after the swearing-in of the new CSs, Ruto said that their extensive experience will mobilise government machinery to deliver services to Kenyans.

"Without exception, all the three cabinet secretaries have extensive experience in both executive and legislative work of our public service,''  Ruto said.

"For this reason, I am confident of the skills and the capabilities that they bring in their new roles."

On Friday Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo was sworn in as CS for ICT while ex-Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui took oath as the new CS for Trade and Industry.

Former Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe was sworn in as the new CS for Agriculture and Livestock.

Lauding their experience, Ruto said the knowledge gained by the CSs in their past roles as legislators and governors will help enhance service delivery.

Kagwe has previously served as Nyeri senator and a minister in both the Uhuru Kenyatta and Mwai Kibaki governments.

The President said he served with Kagwe and Kabogo in Parliament when they were elected to the 9th Parliament and Kinyanjui later in the 10th Parliament.

"With their strong leadership skills, these cabinet secretaries are very well equipped to mobilise the machinery of government, drive them to deliver services to the people of Kenya while steering inclusive development and economic growth, that leaves no one behind,'' Ruto said.

The President is banking on experienced politicians to steady the government and steer development across the country at a time when his administration is under scrutiny.

All the CSs sworn in on Friday were allies of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Their appointment followed a meeting Ruto had with Uhuru at his Gatundu home as part of the broadening of government following last year's Gen Z protests.

The CSs come in at a time the government is keen on delivering on its campaign pledges with the clock ticking fast to 2027.
