Kenya is currently participating in the prestigious Middle East and Africa (MEA) Future Leaders Challenge (FLC) 2025 Finals in Dubai.
The Kenyan delegation for the event includes 12 exceptional students and eight dedicated educators from leading institutions.
The institutions include the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre—East Africa (GTRCMC-EA, domiciled at Kenyatta University), Strathmore University, and Boma College.
The teams were officially flagged at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) earlier this week.
The ceremony was graced by Tourism CS Rebecca Miano, who is also the Chairperson of GTRCMC-EA, alongside John Ololtuaa, Principal Secretary for Tourism, and Ag. Vice Chancellor of Kenyatta University Waceke Wanjohi.
The MEA Future Leaders Challenge, which began on January 21, will end on January 25 in Dubai.
The event has brought together 83 participants from 15 countries to tackle pressing challenges in the fields of tourism and hospitality.
The event also provides a global platform for young innovators to demonstrate their resilience, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
“We are incredibly proud of our students and educators who will be representing Kenya at this prestigious event. Their participation is a testament to Kenya’s commitment to shaping the future of tourism and hospitality, both regionally and globally,” CS Miano said.
“Through innovation and collaboration, they will contribute to addressing real-world challenges, and we believe they will showcase the very best of what Kenya has to offer," she added.
CS Miano said that the country anticipates success as Kenya’s future leaders step into the exciting challenge.
"The MEA Future Leaders Challenge highlights Kenya’s role in the global tourism industry and reaffirms our commitment to empowering young people in shaping the future of tourism and hospitality. Let us Kenyans rally behind our talented delegation as they take on this remarkable journey," CS Miano added.
"Together, we are building the future of global tourism and hospitality, and our future leaders are already making us proud!"
