Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi on Thursday held a meeting with the State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development PS Amos Gatheca.

Muturi said the department is focused on ongoing initiatives to enhance public service delivery and strengthen human capital development.

In a statement on Facebook, the CS said they are committed to ensuring Kenyans receive services effectively.

"Receiving my daily briefing today from the PS State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development Amos Gatheca. We focused on ongoing initiatives to enhance public service delivery and strengthen human capital development," he said.

"Together, we are committed to ensuring that our services effectively meet the needs of all Kenyans."

On Wednesday, Muturi was missing during the swearing-in of Public Service Commissioners at KICC.

According to Muturi, PSC is an independent commission and CS is not a member of the commission.

He said his absence did not stop the swearing-in of the commissioners.

Muturi was also conspicuously missing during the first Cabinet meeting of 2025 held at the State Lodge in Kakamega on Tuesday.

The meeting chaired by President William Ruto reached a series of resolutions, including the merger of 42 state corporations into 20 as a cost-cutting measure.

On January 12, Muturi appeared to have broken ranks with the government when he held a press conference at the Serena Hotel and called for a national dialogue regarding the alleged abduction of Kenyans and blamed the government for having a hand in it.

The former Attorney General said he had taken the divergent stand from the government position, which has consistently denied involvement, because he was a victim after his son was abducted on June 22, 2024.

His remarks sparked public debate and prompted the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to invite him to record a statement regarding his son to help facilitate ongoing investigations.
