Tessie Mudavadi's Ushiriki Wema seeks partnerships to boost women, youth entrepreneurs

The partnerships will also target the elderly and persons with disabilities.

Tessie Mudavadi's Ushiriki Wema organisation, is seeking to strengthen partnerships to provide resources, advocacy and networking opportunities to women and youth entrepreneurs.

Ushiriki Wema was founded in 2022 and is tied to the spouse of Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi,Tessie.


Chief Executive and programmes director Sintoyia Kasaine said the organisation will expand outreach programmes from the existing ones targeting elderly, and persons with disabilities to include maternal and child health initiatives.

“I want to take a moment to express our appreciation to each of our partners. Your commitment to our mission, demonstrated through your support and collaboration, is the reason we have made significant progress in uplifting lives and building resilient communities,” Kasaine said.

Kasaine spoke during a breakfast meeting with stakeholders and partners.

The meeting brought together new partners including Equity Group, Huduma Kenya under the Ministry of Public Service, Ajira Digital and KEPSA under the Ministry of Information Communications and the Digital Economy and Fanaka Network tech solutions and data management entity.

Kasaine said the programme on women and youth empowerment aims to help beneficiary groups navigate current challenges and tap into new opportunities.

“These two sets of members within our society are key drivers to the growth of the country’s economy. What we want to see is an impactful change that will touch lives through empowering the women and youth to live dignified lives,” she said.

She added that their primary goal is to conduct regular community outreach programme targeting underserved and vulnerable communities and groups.

“We will be advocating for a conducive commercial, trade and investment environment that supports the expansion of women and youth-led enterprises. We want to enhance their access to local and international markets and facilitate meaningful connections with financial institutions and development partners,” Kasaine said.

During the meeting, Equity Group was represented by the senior manager for women and youth banking Charity Nkirote while FANA Networks was represented by senior director Elizabeth Rop.
