Kakamega Senator Boni Kwalwale has called on the government to address concerns about abductions in the country.
Khalwale faulted leaders who are calling for the resignation of Public Service Commission CS Justin Muturi over his remarks on abduction.
Two weeks ago, Muturi honoured an invitation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and recorded a statement where he demanded answers over his son's abduction.
Muturi's claims drew admiration and condemnation in equal measure with a section of government insiders calling for his resignation.
On Friday, Muturi said the government should shelve everything and focus on stopping abductions and killings happening in the country.
Speaking on Saturday, Khalwale said that Muturi is angry about the alleged abduction of his son and only wants answers.
"There are people who want to incite Justin Muturi, his son was allegedly abducted. As a parent when your child is abducted, you can't be happy. So Muturi is angry and wants to know who took his child. Others are saying Muturi must resign or be sacked. How do you sack a father because he is concerned about the abduction of his son?" Khalwale said in a video on X.
"I humbly appeal to you to (President Ruto) not to listen to those who are asking you to sack Muturi."
Khalwale added that the government should listen to Kenyans who have raised concerns about abductions saying they are not opposing the government.
"I stand with the President to support him positively."
He called on allies of the President to steer clear of Muturi's concerns saying he is speaking on behalf of Kenyans who want an end to abductions.
Muturi on Friday called on the government to up its game saying that it should not be normal to get bodies of missing persons at the morgue.
“The back must stop with the government. Please order an end to these abductions and extra-judicial killings. Why do we have young men abducted and killed?" he posed.
“These must come to a stop.”
He said he was not aware of any state policy that supports abductions and extra-judicial killings in the government.
“ It is not right that the relatives can stay for 40 days looking for their young ones. And we are discussing economies, economy for who?" he posed.
“This matter should be taken with the seriousness that it takes. I was lucky that when my son was abducted I was lucky to reach the president. How about this parent who can not reach the president.”
