Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asked Kenyans to remain hopeful in the face of adversities.
Kalonzo acknowledged that Kenyans are undergoing difficult times with Kenyans struggling with the high cost of living and unemployment.
Speaking on Monday at the Social Newsroom, Kalonzo said Kenyans should now be reflective on the happenings in the country.
“I urge my countrymen to always keep hope alive; we are all going through plenty of challenges ranging from unemployment to a lack of food on the table, and people can’t afford school fees and university fees. I urge them to be reflective at this time and to know that their freedoms are guaranteed under the Constitution 2010,” Kalonzo said.
The Wiper leader added that Kenyans should celebrate June 25, 2024, as the birth of a new Kenya. He said that the country has been liberated and Kenyans should reflect on the situation.
“The wakeup call is there now; we all come up and say no to overtaxation, abduction, and resource theft. This is the time for Kenyans to re-emerge as a serious nation, and we shall be able to educate our children and hand them over to future generations; that is my message; keep hope alive,” he added.
The Wiper leader further wished former Prime Minister Raila Odinga well as he battles out for the African Union Commission chairmanship.
“Our big brother, we wish you well, and you know we mean it. If you don’t mind, consider coming home because you will not be able to actively participate in the local politics; just stand in the middle,” he added.
The Wiper leader has on several occasions affirmed that the opposition is still in place and is strong.
“We have come to tell you that opposition is still in place. We shall not accept the country to go on the wrong path,” Kalonzo said.
“We pray for the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to bag the AUC chairmanship bid. If he gets it, in the next election those who are remaining to go head-on for the top seat.
