A man surrendered to a police station in Cherengany, Trans Nzoia county on Saturday and told police he had murdered another man in his compound following a land dispute.
The suspect presented himself at the Milimani police post armed with a bloodstained kitchen knife and told police he had stabbed to death a man who he had quarrelled with.
Police on duty disarmed him and later placed him in custody.
The team later visited the scene and found the body of Philip Ekitale lying in a pool of blood.
The body had a deep wound in the chest which was oozing blood.
Police said they established the victim and the suspect had a quarrel before the stabbing happened on Saturday, February 1 in Lokoriama village.
Ekitale is said to have passed through a footpath on a land belonging to the suspect family prompting a quarrel, which turned fatal.
The killer weapon was kept as an exhibit, police said adding a probe into the murder is ongoing.
The body was moved to Kitale County Referral Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
Meanwhile, three people are admitted to a hospital in Bungoma South after a fight in a love triangle saga.
The victims had cuts in the head and hands following the drama on Saturday night.
A bodaboda rider told police he found a man in his house and attacked him with a panga inflicting deep cuts.
He also attacked and injured his wife in the drama.
The rider was also injured by the said intruder as he tried to defend himself during the attack.
The victims were rushed to a local hospital and admitted there in serious condition.
Police said they are waiting for them to recover for grilling on what happened before further action is taken.
Such incidents have been on the rise in villages amid calls on parties to always solve their differences amicably.
Police say most of the cases have been solved or the matters are pending before the courts.
