President William Ruto's tour of the Northeastern region enters its second day today with a visit to Wajir County where he is expected to commission and inspect several development projects.
He is also expected to address a rally at Orahey grounds and later launch the cattle vaccination and restocking exercise.

Ruto announced during a past event that the government has allocated Sh1 billion for restocking livestock lost during the drought in the northern part of the country.

He also stated that the government will buy 55,000 goats and sheep to distribute to farmers, ensuring that every family is supported.

Ruto was in Mandera on Tuesday.


Lands Cabinet Secretary media briefing


Lands, Housing and Public Works Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome is scheduled to address the media on the progress of the Affordable Housing Program.

She will also share details about the ongoing sale and allocation of houses in various parts of the country.

The event will be held at Ardhi House.

The release of the houses to the public is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025, with 4,000 units expected to be handed over. 

The housing units come in different typologies, including social, affordable, and market categories, with options for studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom units.

The smallest units will range from Sh3,000 for low-income earners to Sh7,000 per month, depending on the type of house chosen.


National Assembly's Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting

The National Assembly's Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will today convene to examine the financial accounts for the financial year ending June 2022 in regards to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Defence, Judicial Service Commission (JSC) and Judiciary.
