Deputy Chief Registrar Paul Ndemo Maina has been appointed the spokesperson of the Judiciary.
Judiciary in a notice said his appointment seeks to enhance engagement with the public as well as transparency.
Ndemo will lead efforts in offering effective communication within the arm of the government and engaging stakeholders.
“Ndemo's appointment underscores the Judiciary's commitment to effective communication and stakeholder engagement by ensuring the public remains informed about judicial services and initiatives,” the Judiciary notice read in part on Thursday.
“As the Judiciary Spokesperson, he will serve as the primary point of contact for disseminating official information, clarifying matters related to judicial processes, and addressing public inquiries.”
With his extensive experience in the Justice sector and a deep understanding of operations, the Judiciary said Ndemo is well-positioned to bridge the gap between the institution and its stakeholders.
The appointment also seeks to ensure that the judiciary remains responsive to the public it serves.
As Deputy Chief Registrar, his mandate includes overall administration and management of the Judiciary, acting as an accounting officer of the Judiciary and preparing reports and proposals on administrative issues.
Ndemo joined the Judiciary in August 2018 as the Deputy Registrar.
Previously, he served at the office of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions from 2006 to 2018 during which he rose to the position of Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions.
Ndemo holds a Masters of Arts Degree in International Studies and a Bachelor of Laws degree both from the University of Nairobi.
In addition to that, he also has a certificate in Strategic and Security Studies from the National Defence College and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
He was admitted to the Bar in 1998.
