Afrique Like Me is set to make history with its first international headline performance on February 22, 2025, at the Kilele Summit in Nairobi, Kenya.

Organized by Santuri East Africa, Kilele Summit is a celebration of African music, culture and technology, making it the perfect stage for the group’s unique sound.

Afrique Like Me’s eclectic sound has earned it a reputation for blending African rhythms with underground electronic music and throwing Toronto’s largest African Electronic Music events.

“To share our music on the continent that inspires everything we do is huge. Nairobi is having a big impact on Afrohouse and Afrotech globally so we’re excited to share our sound, bring our energy to and connect with the city’s incredible scene,” Afrique Like Me, founder Razaq El Toro said

In its second year, Kilele Summit, a flagship conference by Santuri East Africa, is known for spotlighting innovative artists from across the continent and beyond.

According to Afrique Like Me, this isn’t just a debut but a testament to how far the collective has come and where they’re headed.

Co-Founder and Co-Director of Santuri East Africa David Tinning shared his excitement for Afrique Like Me’s upcoming performance saying that Afrique Like Me’s performance at Kilele Summit marks an exciting moment for African music.

“They represent the spirit of collaboration and connection that Santuri is all about. Sonic Griot’s evolution from student to Kilele planning team member and now performer showcases the deep bonds that drive this community,” Tinning said.
