Selection panel advertises NPSC chair, members jobs

The selection panel for nominees for appointment as chairperson and members of the National Police Service Commission has opened the window for applications.

Chairperson of the Selection Panel Arthur Osiya in a notice posted in local dailies invited qualified Kenyans to apply for the position of the chairperson as well as membership of the NPSC.

For those seeking the chairperson position, Osiya said the candidate should be a Kenyan citizen, hold a degree from a university recognised in Kenya, and meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution which outlines the standards of leadership and integrity that public officials must hold.

He must also not have previously been a member of the National Police Service.

Two positions are available for members of the national police service commission, specifically meant for retired senior police officers.

Candidates must also be Kenyan citizens, hold a degree from a university recognised in Kenya, be a retired police officer, either from the Kenya Police Service or Administrative Police Service, must have served as the Senior Superintendent of Police or above and meet the requirement of chapter six of the constitution.

The selection panel will also recruit two other members, positions reserved for members of the public who have served with distinction. 

Candidates must be a citizens of Kenya; hold a degree from a university recognized in Kenya and have had at least ten (10) years’ experience in any of the following disciplines Finance and Administration; Economics; Human Resource Development and Management; Public Administration;  Labour Laws; Law;  Human Rights; (h) Ethics and Governance; Mediation and Consensus Building; and  Change Management.

They must also meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution, not be and have not previously been a member of the National Police Service and  have had a distinguished career in his/her respective field.

Applicants will be required to present their national identity card, academic and professional certificates and transcripts and get clearances from KRA and security organs via e-mail to [email protected] for online applications.

For hand delivery, applications should be taken to the office of the Secretary or chief executive officer of the Public Service Commission, Commission House at Harambee Avenue.
