Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) announced plans to partially close a section of Quarry Road- Mlolongo/ Syokimau area for two months.
The move is aimed at allowing rehabilitation and improvement works within the routes.
''We wish to notify the general public that sections of Quarry road- Mlolongo/Syokimau area will be closed from 6 AM Monday, February 24 2025 to 6 PM Friday, April 25 2025,'' Kura director general Silas Kinoti said in a notice.
''This is due to the rehabilitation and improvement works along Quarry Road.''
The road agency further urged motorists will be required to use alternative routes and to follow guidelines issued by the traffic police.
The renovations come after complaints by Syokimau residents who lamented over the deteriorating state of roads in the area.
The residents had complained about the poor state of roads citing massive potholes and cracks which led to motorists' vehicles developing mechanical issues.
The situation had been aggravated by the floods witnessed which dilapidated the infrastructure by overwhelming drainages and causing damages to the roads.
