Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has vehemently dismissed as untrue reports that they spent a whooping Sh13 billion on the Africa Union Commission (AUC) campaigns.

"Some people say it was Sh13 billion spent on the Raila Campaign. I don't know which world they live in. A billion shilling to do what? The money that was spent was necessary for transport to travel around and we were not living luxuriously," he said.

"We were eating what we were being given and many countries were generous and provided accommodation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was available 24/7 and the other gov departments made appointments for us. I want to thank my Brother for this support."
