Deputy President Kithure Kindiki will today host grassroots leaders from the three counties of Embu, Meru and Tharaka Nithi counties.

The meeting will be held at his rural residence in Tharaka Nithi. 
Kindiki has been meeting grassroots leaders, professionals and opinion shapers from various counties at his Karen residence.

The meetings are aimed at taking stock of development projects as captured in the Kenya Kwanza manifesto to agree on the implementation plan.

Today's meeting is the second one by the Deputy President being held outside Nairobi since his appointment.

President William Ruto's Coastal tour

President William Ruto is set to visit Taita Taveta to launch a series of development projects which include the tarmacking of Njukini-Ilasit road, a major transit route that connects the county with Kajiado.

Others are the construction of Maungu market, and also inspect the construction of the affordable housing project in Voi.

Ruto was also scheduled to oversee the signing of Sh30 billion investment by Afreximbank on the Dongo Kundu SEZ in Mombasa.

Advocacy march and justice for reparations

Civil society groups Utu Wetu, Grace Agenda and Feminist for Peace, Rights and Justice Centre will march in Kibra in honour of survivors while demanding justice and an end to the cycle of election-related sexual violence.

The March is under the theme: 17 Years on - Honouring survivors, demanding justice, ending the cycle of election-related sexual violence.

The key focus areas will be:

Justice and Reparations: Demanding accountability for survivors of election-related sexual violence.

Children born of rape: Recognizing their struggles and advocating for support.

Ending cycles of violence: Addressing ongoing impurity, from 2007/08 to Baby Pendo and beyond.
