

This week, President William Ruto spent his time traversing Nairobi City County inspecting development projects while engaging the residents as part of his wider strategy to consolidate the region.
The city tour followed the signing of a pact between him and ODM leader Raila Odinga that will see the duos work together combating challenges facing the country.
This is how it went down.
March 10 (Monday)
He commenced the tour in Kamukunji constituency, where he officially opened the Kamukunji Technical & Vocational College before addressing residents at Eastleigh.
Ruto who was accompanied by Governor Johnson Sakaja among other leaders from the city, also inspected the upgraded Desert Pitch in California which was done by the county.
“We are working with county governments to invest in social infrastructure to provide ample spaces for leisure, talent development, and interaction,” he said.
Later in the day, he was at the Zawadi Comprehensive School, where he officially opened the Dishi na County Central Kitchen and inspected 4,566-unit Shauri Moyo B Affordable Housing Project, Makadara Constituency.
Highlighting the significance of his Nairobi tour, Ruto stated that Nairobi is the country’s capital and also the only United Nations headquarters in the Global South.
“Our Affording Housing Programme accords us the opportunity to rid Nairobi of many informal settlements and provide millions of residents with decent living,” he stated.
He wrapped the day by launching the Nairobi engineering works, the second phase of Nairobi River restoration works and also presided over the groundbreaking for Social Housing and Associated Infrastructure along Nairobi River.
The Nairobi Rivers Regeneration Project integrates affordable housing, modern markets, and enhanced infrastructure, transforming Nairobi into a livable and economically vibrant city.
Extending to Kiambu, Machakos, Kajiado, and Murang’a, it entails river rehabilitation, flood mitigation, waste management and 54-kilometre of new sewer lines, improving public health and urban resilience.
With 10,264 social housing units and over 50,000 jobs, this life-changing initiative ensures dignified living, sustainable transport and economic empowerment for thousands of residents.

March 11 (Tuesday)
He was in Mathare constituency, his tour starting with a visit to St. Teresa Girls Secondary School where he committed to building 10 additional classrooms.
He also broke ground for the construction of Mabatini Primary School in the area.
Ruto also addressed residents at Mlango kubwa, before visiting Mathari mixed school, T.J Kajwa secondary school and later broke the ground for the construction of the Mathare Lot 1 Social Housing Programme.
Other activities during the day were the operationalisation of the Deputy County Commissioner’s Office, Ruaraka Sub-County and inspection of Mathare North Fresh Produce Market that will boost entrepreneurship in the area.
He later concluded by addressing a crowd at Mathare grounds where he emphasised the need for Kenyans to remain united and avoid being divided along tribal lines. “In our unity is our strength, and success,” he said.

March 12 (Wednesday)
In Dagoretti south, he began by inspecting the ongong Mutuini market, Dagoretti Sub-County Hospital, before opening Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Laboratory at PC Kinyanjui TTI.
The market will be ready in two months and will support thousands of livelihoods in the area. Ruto also broke the ground for Sh350 million Riruta modern market project, laid the foundation stone for Dagoretti Jitume Centre of Excellence and inspected the construction of a tuition block at Kawangware Primary Junior Secondary.
Its completion will boost enrollment in the area.
The market will provide a conducive environment for small businesses, including Mama Mboga.
He also made several stopovers to address wananchi at Kawangware Market, Congo, Stage 2 and Stage 56 in Dagoretti North.
The Head of State also presided over the opening of the newly-completed tuition blocks at Kangemi Junior Secondary and Gatina Junior Secondary and assessed the progress of a dormitory construction at Kangemi Boys' High School.
Still in Kangemi, he inspected the ongoing construction of Kangemi Bridge and the James Gichuru Junction-Rironi Highway and thereafter addressed the residents.
He concluded by opening the newly-completed Junior Secondary School classrooms at Westlands Primary School.
“The National Government will continue making available resources to constituencies to drive growth, tame poverty and make Kenya more equal and inclusive,” he said.

March 13 (Thursday)
The President was in Langata and Kibra constituencies.
He started by officially opening the PCEA Booth Girls’ High School-Ngong Forest before breaking the ground for construction of Southlands affordable housing project-Lot 5 in Mugumoini.
The project will have 60 residential blocks with 15,960 residential units, two community centres and a primary school.
While at Booth School, Ruto committed to sponsoring 10 vulnerable girls from each of the 17 constituencies in Nairobi to enroll in the institution.
He also opened the Lang’ata Technical and Vocational College before crossing over to Kibra.
Here, he inspected construction works at Ayany primary and junior school, and committed to build 10 new classrooms and addressed residents and traders at Olympic stage, Ayany, and Makina.
Also opened Kibra Technical and Vocational College. He also served lunch to students of Toi Primary School under the transformative Dishi Na County programme.
“We are making our school meals more nutritious to ensure that our children remain healthy and perform better in class,” he stated.
President Ruto also pledged Sh500 million towards the modernisation of the Toi market to make it safer and conducive for traders to operate from.
He ended the tour by addressing residents at the DC Grounds where he thanked the people of Kibra Constituency for their support to the broad-based Government.
March 14 (Friday)
In his last leg of the tour, he toured Ruaraka, Makadara and Embakasi West.
Ruto who was accompanied by his deputy Kithure Kindiki and Governor Johnson Sakaja among other leaders started with the opening of a tuition block at Njiru Mixed Day Secondary School in Ruaraka.
Here, he pledged to build 10 more classrooms.
Thereafter, he interacted with the residents and traders of Ruai Underpass, Chokaa, Kayole Junction and Njiru Stage.
Ruto also presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a kitchen at Umoja 1 Primary Central Kitchen and Junior School classroom blocks before addressing the residents at Kayole junction.
He also promised to build 10 new classrooms at the schools. In Embakasi West, he broke the ground for the Umoja Sewerage System that will connect more than 50,000 households in Kariobangi, Maili Saba, Umoja, Saika, Tassia and Tena to sewer lines.

He later addressed residents at Umoja 1 and Mutindwa.
At Tena Estate, he inspected the ongoing works at the Tena Estate Comprehensive School and undertook to build 40 classrooms for both primary and secondary education.
He also opened the Star of Hope primary school and launched the construction of the Jogoo Road Phase 1 Affordable Housing Project.
