Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has expressed willingness to engage in discussions with President William Ruto regarding the appointment of the next IEBC chairperson.
He, however, insists he will not enter into any political cooperation with the Kenya Kwanza government.
The former vice president dismissed claims that he was in talks with President Ruto’s camp, calling such reports idle speculation.
He spoke when he joined Gladys Muthui, who was launching her book "Moving Beyond Limitation," at the Gospel Outreach Church, Joska Transformation Centre, Nairobi.
“People should not panic or claim that Kalonzo has gone to State House,” he said.
“If it’s about meeting Ruto to agree on who should be the next IEBC chairperson, then I am ready for that meeting.”
Kalonzo reaffirmed his commitment to his 2027 presidential bid, urging Kenyans to make the right choice in the next election.
“The next time I meet Ruto will be when he is handing over power, just like Uhuru did,” he added.
Kalonzo’s remarks come as he actively seeks alliances with key opposition figures, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, ahead of the 2027 polls.
Recently, he criticized ODM leader Raila Odinga for signing a cooperation agreement with President Ruto, calling it an act of betrayal.
