A 38-year-old man was found dead in a house after he had been stabbed in the back by his friend in a confrontation in Maralal, Samburu County.
Police said the deceased had fought with his friend following a disagreement on March 19.
Witnesses and police said the deceased was stabbed on the left side of his back and as a result, he succumbed to the injury.
The assailant escaped the scene after the attack.
Police said efforts to trace the assailant for grilling are ongoing.
Detectives handling the case said they are investigating what prompted the fight between the friends that turned fatal.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.
Elsewhere in Kaptagat, Elgeyo Marakwet, a man was found dead after he had been hacked by a panga over claims of stealing harvested potatoes.
The assailant told police the deceased had confronted him while armed with a panga after he questioned him about the potatoes.
This led to a confrontation that turned fatal. In the process, the assailant said he was also injured in the palm and leg.
He told police he managed to overpower the suspected thief and killed him.
He was taken to a local hospital pending grilling.
The body of the deceased was moved to a local mortuary for autopsy after the March 20 incident, police said.
In Masinga, Machakos County, a man was found dead on the roadside in a village.
Police said the body was found in a trench on the roadside on March 19.
The cause of the death is yet to be established.
