Areas in 6 counties to be hit by power cuts Wednesday

The scheduled interruption will affect Nairobi, Kiambu, Kitui, Tharaka Nithi, Mombasa and Kwale counties.

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power cuts in some areas across the country that will affect areas in six counties.

The utility firm listed areas to be affected in Nairobi, Kiambu, Kitui, Tharaka Nithi, Mombasa and Kwale counties.

A public notice published Tuesday evening said interuption will be initiated at varid times between 8am and 5pm.

The power interruption is for purposes of facilitating system maintenance.

Nairobi                               

Parts of Nairobi will face power interruptions from 9am to 5pm.

The areas are Githurai 45, Co-op Bank, Naivas, Kingdom Sacco, Mt Kenya, Kimbo, Mwana Mukia, Clanne Academy, Kassmatt, Fountain Junior, Kwa DO Mukinye, Army Barracks, Sukari B, Mwiki School, Kimbo Police, Part of Mwihoko, Farmers Choice, Part of Clay City and adjacent customers.

Other areas are Eastleigh section III, part of Yusuf Haji Road, Mega Wholesalers, Eastleigh Equity Bank, Huduma Centre Eastleigh, part of Eastleigh Second Avenue, part of Eastleigh Third Avenue and adjacent customers.

At the same time, parts of Evergreen Runda, Flame Tree, Ruaka Road, Runda Meadows, Bombax Drive and Tala Drive will face power cuts in Nairobi.

Kiambu

Parts of Kiambu will face interruption of power from 9am to 5pm.

The areas are Ruaka town, Slaughter Road, Kyuna Road, Gertrude, Kinuthia Drive, California, James Drive, part of Bypass, Delta, Total Petrol Station and adjacent customers.

Kitui

Parts of Kitui will face power cuts from 9am to 5pm.

The areas are Kora Market, Kwa Gavana, Mivukoni, Tseikuru, Kaningo, Usueni, Mikauni, Ngungani Market, Kiambere Water Supply and Wikithuki.

Mt Kenya region

Parts of the region to face power cuts from 9am to 5pm are Kiamuthanga market, Kiamuthanga village, Mbogo-Ini village, Tumutumu Farm, Tumutumu Secondary School, Kiamubira Primary School, Tumutumu Hospital, Kiangoma Village, Karie Coffee Factory, Ikonju village, Mungaria Coffee Factory, Mungaria Polytechnic, Wakamata village, Mbari ya Njora village, Safaricom boosters, Airtel boosters and adjacent customers.

Other areas to face power cuts from 8am to 5pm in Mt Kenya region include Birithia Girls, Mahiga Girls, Gathtuthi Girls, Gathuthi Tea Factory, Ndugamano market, Kagere market, Kenyatta Mahiga High School, Gitugi Tea Factory, Ihithe Secondary, Gura Village, Hubuini market, Mathenge Technical Training Institute, Mahiga Coffee Factory, Kina TBC, Gacami market, Ndunyu market and adjacent customers.

Tharaka Nithi

Areas in Tharaka Nithi will face power cuts from 8.30am to 4pm.

They are Godka Hotel, Chuka KPLC office, Chuka Kenya Police and adjacent customers.

Mombasa

Areas in Mombasa will experience power cuts from 9am to 5pm.

They include Technical University of Mombasa, Tudor Sub-County Hospital, Tudor Nora, Rasini Road, Tudor Kwa Mchele, Tudor Kiziwi, St Joseph Catholic, Tudor Mwisho, Kaa Chonjo, Nyumba ya Wazee, Kwa Amo Biriyani, Tudor Water Sports and adjacent customers.

Kwale

Areas in Kwale to face power interruption from 9am to 4pm are Mshiu, Mwangwei, Majoreni, Lungalunga, Mwangulu, Mtumwa, Vanga, Horohoro and adjacent customers.
