AGC Tenwek Mission Hospital has confirmed Ben Siele as the substantive CEO effective April 1, 2025.
The appointment, announced by the hospital’s board of governors’ chairperson Robert Langat, follows a recruitment process that began in August 2024.
Siele who has been holding the position in an acting capacity, now replaces Shem Tangus who resigned in July last year.
The search for the new CEO was conducted by Interlink Management & Development Consulting firm and concluded on March 25, 2025, Langat said in a press statement.
“On behalf of the Board, Management, and staff, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Siele on his appointment. We wish him God's grace and wisdom as he leads AGC Tenwek Hospital into a sustainable and prosperous future,” he said.
Langat also expressed confidence in his ability to steer the facility towards greater success.
He said since he assumed the role, he has managed to lead the hospital through significant financial and operational challenges.
“I believe that under Ben's leadership, AGC Tenwek will not only continue to provide high-quality healthcare but will also expand its impact across Kenya and beyond. Ben’s extensive experience and commitment to excellence make him uniquely qualified to drive the hospital's strategic vision forward,” Langat stated.
He further emphasised the importance of focusing on long-term goals such as financial sustainability and the implementation of the hospital's Strategic Plan for 2024-2028.
He stated that his experience in both the corporate and healthcare sectors is a tremendous asset in guiding the hospital to greater heights.
Before his appointment, Siele served as the Hospital’s Human Resources and Administration Director from January 2022.
With over 27 years of experience across agriculture, manufacturing, FMCG, NGO, and healthcare sectors, Siele brings a wealth of expertise in strategic management and human resource management.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from Kenyatta University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Kenya Institute of Management, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Strategic Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology.
