    Police officers are once again racing against time to enforce the law and maintain public order amid a spike in criminal incidents reported across the country this week.

    From shootings to theft and murder, law enforcement agencies have had their hands full dealing with a string of violent occurrences.

    Here is a summary of the crimes that were committed this week.

    Gunmen strike in Samburu killing one, and injuring two

    In Samburu County, a 35-year-old man was shot dead and two others injured after armed gunmen attacked them in the Nonyo Mpoya area while they were herding livestock.

    The deceased, identified as Jumberia Lesaigor, succumbed to his injuries shortly after the attack. The two survivors are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.


    The attackers are reported to have made away with an unknown number of livestock, and police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.


    Boda boda rider poisons sons, attempts suicide

    Detectives launched investigations into an incident where a man poisoned his two sons, seven and 12 years old, before attempting suicide in Nakuru.

    According to the victim’s mother, the incident occurred while she was away at work Wednesday.

    The suspect, who is a boda boda rider, is fighting for his life at the Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital under tight police surveillance, police said. The motive of the incident is yet to be known.

    Body of a missing child found in Kajiado

    Police began an investigation into an incident where the body of a five-year-old boy who had been missing was found stashed in a sack and abandoned on the rooftop of a residential house in Isinya, Kajiado County.

    Police said the boy was reported missing on March 27, 2025, in the area.

    The body was found on April 1 after residents complained a foul smell was disturbing them.

    It was then that they went to check and found a white sack on the rooftop of one of the residential houses in the Korrompoi area.

    According to police, on checking the contents, they found the body of the boy. It was decomposing then. The mother and grandmother of the child identified him.

    The body of MMU student recovered in a water tank

    The body of a missing Multimedia University (MMU) student was recovered from one of the water tanks in a case of suspected murder.

    Sylvia Kemunto, a first-year Mass Communications and Computer Science major, went missing on Sunday, March 30.

    Her decomposed body was discovered on Wednesday, April 2, police and the institution said.

    She had been strangled and hit by a blunt object, and the motive is yet to be known, police said. Police are looking for her boyfriend, who is a prime suspect in the murder.

    Woman found dead in Kabete in suspected love triangle

    Police launched investigations into an incident where the body of a middle-aged woman was found in her rental house in Kabete, Kiambu County.

    According to police, Naomi Chebet was brutally murdered in her rental house in an apartment by a suspect alleged to be her husband.

    A post-mortem report confirmed she had suffered multiple injuries, including stab wounds and blunt force trauma.

    The deceased woman, who was a mother of three, graduated from a community catering course in 2021. According to reports, she was last seen alive entering her apartment with the suspect on Saturday night, just hours before she was found dead.

    The couple had just reunited after months of separation, a reconciliation that was led by Chebet's brother at around 9 pm on Saturday.
