An unknown number of people were feared injured when an
explosion blew up a food joint in Mandera town.
Police and witnesses said the powerful explosion rocked the Delicacy Food Hotel in Mandera, leaving several people injured and causing
significant damage to the establishment.
It is not clear what caused the 1 pm incident.
The area is near the Kenya-Somalia border where al-Shabaab
terrorists cross for attacks.
Police said they are investigating the incident.
This is the latest such incident to happen in the area amid
operations to contain the trend.
