Key global growth rates and share of energy demand growth

Growth in global energy demand rose in 2024 to almost twice its recent average.

In the Electric Vehicle (EV) market, China’s BYD has overtaken Tesla in annual sales.

Renewables accounted for the largest share of the growth in total energy supply (38%).

This is according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).
