vivo officially launched its most advanced smartphone to date, the vivo V50, in Kenya on Monday.
The flagship device, coengineered
with ZEISS, aims to redefine
mobile photography with professional portrait capabilities and a sleek design.
The vivo V50 stands out with a combination of professional-grade imaging, long battery life, and aesthetic appeal, targeting users seeking high performance and creative flexibility.
The phone’s release marks a
significant upgrade in the brand’s V series, with enhanced portrait
functionality and competitive specifications.
"The
vivo V series has always been about empowering our users to capture life's
precious moments," said James Irungu, vivo Brand Manager Kenya.
"With
the V50, we're taking another leap forward in mobile imaging. Its advanced
portrait capabilities, premium design, and powerful performance redefine
expectations for a smartphone in this price range."
At the heart of the V50 is the ZEISS Co-engineered Imaging System,
which features a 50 MP All Main Camera
setup across all rear lenses.
These include a 50 MP ZEISS OIS Main Camera with a 1/1.55" large sensor and a mini gimbal system offering CIPA 4.0 DSLR-level stabilization,
ensuring superior image clarity and stability even in low-light or motion-heavy
conditions.
The device also debuts AI Aura Light Portrait 2.0, with a 143x ultra-soft fill light powered by
AI algorithms for studio-quality, multi-angle lighting.
Two new cinematic lighting styles—Rembrandt and Butterfly Lighting—further enhance portrait quality. With ZEISS Multifocal Portrait support, users
can shoot at 23 mm, 35 mm, and 50 mm focal lengths, paired with seven ZEISS Style Bokeh effects for
distinctive background blur and color grading.
The front camera features a 50 MP ZEISS Group Selfie Camera with a
92° autofocus wide-angle lens
and AI 3D Studio Lighting 2.0,
ensuring high-quality group shots.
A 119°
ultra-wide rear camera allows users to capture landscapes and larger
groups with minimal distortion. The V50 also supports ultra-clear 4K video recording, along with features like AI Image Studio, Film Camera Mode, and Live Photo for creative storytelling.
Design-wise, the V50 sports an Ultra Slim 4D Infinity Curved
Screen and a 41° Golden
Curvature frame, built for comfort and elegance.
Under the hood, the V50 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon® 7 Gen 3 Mobile Platform,
boasting a 15% CPU boost and 50% GPU improvement.
It offers 12 GB RAM with an additional 12 GB extended RAM, supporting up to 40 simultaneous apps.
Its 6000 mAh (TYP) BlueVolt Battery, enhanced by 90W FlashCharge, delivers 6 hours of talk time from a 10-minute charge.
The device also carries IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance,
making it durable across environments.
The V50 is now available across
Kenya, ushering in a new era of mobile creativity and performance for
photography enthusiasts and everyday users alike.
