Koome to preside over the closing ceremony of the 2025 High Court Leaders Conference

Chief Justice Martha Koome is expected to preside over the official closing ceremony of the 2025 High Court Leaders Conference.

The ceremony will be held at Sarova Whitesands Resort, Mombasa at 2 pm.

The forum sought to discuss aspects of devolution and its relationship with the courts, both retrospectively and prospectively, through various presentations and dialogue.

It was held under the theme 15 years of devolution: The High Court’s Role in Shaping Governance.

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy CJ Philomena Mwilu highlighted the court’s contributions in shaping the legal and operational framework of devolution since the promulgation of the 2010 Constitution.

“The High Court’s jurisprudence has been instrumental in defining the architecture of devolution and strengthening the principles of equity, inclusivity, and justice at both national and county levels,” she said.

“Its presence in all 47 counties is a clear testament to the Judiciary’s commitment to bringing justice closer to the people.”
