Key dignitaries present at Madaraka Day celebrations in Wajir

It is the first time the national event has been held in the North Eastern region.

President William Ruto led the nation in marking the 63rd Madaraka Day celebrations at Wajir Stadium on Monday, the first time the national event has been held in the North Eastern region.

The celebrations drew senior government officials, parliamentary leaders, security chiefs, county leaders and lawmakers from across the country.

Also present were Members of Parliament, Senators, MCAs, religious leaders, diplomats, senior national and county government officials and residents from across the North Eastern region who turned up for the celebrations.
