At least 68 people have died due to heavy rains and floods in Sudan this year, Sudanese Interior Minister Khalil Pasha Sairin said.

"The death toll from floods and rains has reached 68," the minister was quoted as saying by the Sudan News Agency on Tuesday.

He added that the victims died from various causes, including house collapses and drowning.
