IT’S OFTEN SAID if you want others to
value you, first you have to value yourself.
This principle of life seems to be working for
a political leader who has reportedly been
in the cold for some time now. The man was
allegedly demonised for politely declining
a government appointment. It’s said accepting the job would have poisoned the
ground for the fellow who has been eyeing
another job. However, the individual could
soon reap big. The fellow is said to have
been earmarked for a high-profile appointment in the coming days as President William Ruto reorganises his government.

A SENIOR MEMBER of a government
institution was reportedly shocked to be
gifted a Sh20 million car at his birthday party held in Nairobi. The man, who has been in
the news in recent weeks and who is seen
to have goodwill across the broad-based
arrangement, seems to be attracting a lot of
attention due to his new political influence.
The party was purportedly attended by just
40 close friends who raised the money to
give him the car. Not that he can’t afford
such a machine. He was just surprised how
far his friends could stretch. How lucky!

A KEY SECURITY sector institution
has reportedly hired an image laundering
company. While it is interesting that the
institution is seemingly not focusing on
reforming its operations and improving on
service delivery, it remains to be seen what
the PR firm will achieve. There are also concerns over whether the process of hiring
the company was above board. Corridors
understands that the proprietor of the PR
company allegedly has blood ties with the
chief of the institution. There are queries on
whether the arrangement will bear any fruit
or it will end up being another of “it is our
time to eat” ventures.

A BUSINESSMAN WHO was recently
arrested over a deal is on the spot again.
The man and a Nairobi-based advocate
reportedly entered into a deal to jointly buy
land in Kisumu and paid a deposit. They,
however, fell out after the businessman
allegedly forged the advocate’s signature
and took a loan worth millions. After waiting
for six years, the landowners sued to have
the duo pay the balance. But the lawyer had
already signed off all responsibility, leaving
everything to the businessman. He told the
court he would pay the balance but failed.
The man is, however, yet to be arrested as
he brags to have pocketed the police, courts
and top government officers.
