A SENIOR GOVERNMENT official reportedly unwittingly revealed how prominent figures from his home region have been persistently seeking favours since he joined the broad-based government. While addressing a public meeting in his village, the official allegedly lamented that leaders from the region constantly approach him about tenders and contract opportunities in government. He supposedly noted that he is overwhelmed by the volume of requests—many of which cannot be fulfilled at once—and emphasised that he serves the entire country and not just his community.
