Several presidents have ruled in non-consecutive terms, with the US president-elect Donald Trump being one of them.
Trump served as US president from 2016 to 2020 and was defeated by Joe Biden before being elected again in the just concluded 2024 elections.
In the history of the US, Trump becomes the second one to become a President twice non-consecutively.
The first was Grover Cleveland, who ruled from 1885-1889 and 1893-1897.
Trump will be sworn in on January 20.
