Top 10 counties in violence against children

The NCAJ Report 2023/24 financial year highlights a concerning rise in violence against children in Kenya, with Nairobi leading with 16,855 reported cases. Kiambu follows with 9,660 cases, and Machakos records 5,432 cases.

Counties like Nakuru (5,377), Kakamega (4,171), and Bungoma (3,712) also reflect significant incidences of child abuse. The widespread nature of this issue calls for urgent interventions to protect children and hold perpetrators accountable.

The National Council on the Administration of Justice underscores the need for collaborative action, focusing on community education, legal enforcement, and support for affected children.
