United Democratic Alliance moved to clarify ‘misleading’ reports on the outfit’s new top leadership following its merger with Amani National Congress (ANC).
Secretary General Hassan Omar clarified that President William Ruto is the party leader of the new outfit, known as the United Democratic Alliance Party.
Omar noted that the party now has two deputy party leaders, Kithure Kindiki (1st Deputy Party Leader) and Issa Timamy (2nd Deputy Party Leader).
Reports had indicated that Kindiki had lost the Deputy Party Leader position following the merger.
Embu governor Cecily Mbarire is the party’s National Chairperson while Omar is the Secretary General.
