KNBS analysis shows that 49.3 per cent of homeowners chose their home’s location primarily because they inherited the land.
Affordable land follows at 21.6%, while proximity to relatives influences 10.8% of homeowners.
Other considerations include ethnic ties (4.9%), ideal climate or serenity (3.2%), and status changes (2.4%).
Proximity to basic amenities and adequate security play a smaller role, affecting 2.0% and 1.6% of homeowners, respectively.
