A study on the status of drugs and substance use (DSU) among University Students in Kenya shows that one in every six university students (18 per cent) had ever used at least one type of cannabis in their lifetime.
This is contained in a report released by the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) on Thursday.
The report shows that one in every 56 university students (1.8 per cent) had ever used heroin in their lifetime.
The study population comprised undergraduate students from both public and private universities in Kenya.
A
total of 15,678 respondents were interviewed translating to a response rate of 99.7 per cent.
