Most stolen vehicles by make in Kenya

Of all vehicles stolen in 2024, 54.91 per cent were Toyotas.

    A report by the Association of Kenyan Insurers (AKI) has disclosed that Toyota vehicles are most likely to be stolen in Kenya.

    The report is based on data compiled by the Association from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.

    According to AKI, of all vehicles stolen in 2024, 54.91 per cent were Toyotas.

    “Toyota remains the most frequently stolen brand, accounting for 54.91% of reported cases,” the report says.

    Other targeted makes include Isuzu (12.88%), Mazda (7.06%), Nissan (5.83%) and Mitsubishi (3.99%).

    The report said a total of 327 motor vehicles were stolen in 2024, marking a significant 28 per cent decline from the 419 reported in 2023.
