Global military spending reached massive heights in 2025, with a few key nations dominating defence budgets worldwide.
According to data released by Statista in April 2026, the United States continues to lead global defence expenditure by a wide margin, allocating $954 billion to its military.
China holds the second-highest spot with a military budget of $336 billion, followed by Russia at $190 billion.
In Europe, Germany leads regional spending at $114 billion, outpacing both the United Kingdom at $89 billion and France at $68 billion.
Meanwhile, India remains a major spender in Asia with a $92.1 billion defense budget, while Japan allocated $62.2 billion.
In the Middle East, Saudi Arabia leads the region's military expenditure at $83.2 billion, followed by Israel at $48.3 billion.
Concurrently, Ukraine's military spending reached $84.1 billion for the year.
