Most sports bettors across six African countries spend less than $10 (about Sh1,300) a month on betting, according to the GeoPoll Report: Betting in Africa 2026 released on July 16.
The survey, conducted in Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda, found that 58 per cent of respondents spend below $10 monthly.
Another 24 per cent spend between $10 and $25, while eight per cent wager between $25 and $50.
Only six per cent spend between $50 and $100 each month, three per cent spend between $100 and $500, and just two per cent spend more than $500 monthly, highlighting that high-value bettors remain a small minority across the six markets.
