A police officer has died and two others injured after they were involved in an accident in Rang'ala in Siaya county.
Alego Usonga OCPD Benedict Mwangangi said the accident occurred at around 1:40am Saturday.
"The three were traveling in a car from Ugunja when bright headlamps of an oncoming lorry blinded them,” he said.
“Their car then hit the guard rail, and rolled off before the it caught fire.”
Mwangangi said the officers managed to scroll out of the car while one got stuck leading to his demise.
The body lies at the Siaya County Referral Hospital morgue.
The injured officers are undergoing treatment at the same health facility.
